Visitors Policy

We encourage parent and community involvement in school programs and activities. In an effort to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students, we must ensure that all gates are locked during the school day. In accordance with the California Education Code 44810 (a); 44811 (a); 51101, (a): (1), (2), (12) and the Los Angeles Unified School District Board Rules (1265, 2002), the following visitor’s guidelines apply

Visitation Procedure:

  • Obtain prior approval from the principal/designee, sign-in in the Visitor’s On Campus Log Book and obtain a Visitor’s Pass from office staff.
  • Determine classroom activity you will be observing.
  • Limit your observation to a reasonable time and frequency.
  • If you would like to conference with the teacher and/or administrator after your observation, return to the office to write a request an appointment. Include date and time for the scheduled appointment.
  • Return the Visitor’s Permit to the office before leaving the campus.  

Some Important Rules for Visitors:

  • Enter and leave the classroom as quietly as possible.
  • Do not converse with the students, teacher, and/or instructional assistants during your visitation.
  • Do not interfere with any school activity during the visitation.
  • Siblings and/or children who are not enrolled at the school are not permitted on campus unless prior approval from the Principal has been obtained.
  • If you are picking up a student early, please come to the office, complete the Request to Leave Early Log, and the office will call the classroom teacher to send the student to the office.
